Runaway Assistance Program (RAP)

The Runaway Assistance Program (RAP) is a program overseen by The Executive Office of Health and Human Services.  This program is designed to assist Police Officers that are handling displaced/runaway youth that are ages 17 and under.

This program is operational when the juvenile court system is closed (evenings, weekends and holidays). RAP provides a safe environment where the child can stay and be monitored until courts reopen.

Working as a collaborative effort with local Police Departments, Emergency Service Providers and Alternative Lockup Programs across the Commonwealth, Mass211 helps connect these agencies with one another and provide the necessary support services to aid the runaway youth.

For more information or to activate the RAP program
local police can dial 211 ext. 10 to reach a RAP Specialist.
