Governor Patrick Requests Federal Assistance For Local Communities, State Agencies
& Private Non-Profits Impacted By Hurricane Sandy

FRAMINGHAM, MA – The Patrick-Murray Administration has made a request to President Obama to declare a Major Disaster Declaration for Public Assistance in order to expedite financial aid to the local cities and towns of Barnstable, Bristol, Dukes, Nantucket, Plymouth and Suffolk Counties impacted by Hurricane Sandy beginning October 28, 2012.

Governor Patrick Requests SBA Aid For Leominster Fire

FRAMINGHAM, MA – Today, Governor Deval Patrick has sent a letter to the Small Business Administration (SBA)
requesting assistance for the victims of the six-alarm fire, which tore through a large 3-story commercial and residential building located at 65-60 Main Street in Leominster on Saturday, November 24, 2012. This historic building, formerly the Columbia Hotel, which was constructed in 1894, houses 8 separate businesses and 28 residential apartments. Governor Patrick Requests SBA Assistance For Springfield Natural Gas Explosion Victims

FRAMINGHAM, MA - Today, Governor Deval Patrick has made a request to the Small Business Administration (SBA)
for assistance for the victims of the Friday, November 23, 2012 large scale natural gas explosion that occurred in downtown Springfield. The explosion leveled buildings at its epicenter and sent a blast that damaged commercial and residential properties within a threeblock radius of the business district. Several businesses were completely destroyed and damages
resulting from the explosion have impacted hundreds of residential units and businesses in the area.
